Hungarian Beauty

Last week, during a trip to Stockholm, I had the great privilege of visiting the collections storage of the Royal Armoury (Livrustkammaren). My primary objective was to study the Collar of the Hungarian Order of Merit that had been awarded to King Gustaf V of Sweden.

It was a remarkable opportunity to examine this exceptionally rare insignia in detail. Being able to study the craftsmanship at close range and photograph the collar from every angle provided valuable insights that are impossible to obtain from published photographs alone. For a researcher and collector of Hungarian orders and decorations, such direct access to an original piece is an invaluable experience.

I wish to express my best thanks to the staff at the storage for Livrustkammaren in Tumba for their great help and friendliness receiving me at their facility.
