Royal Hungarian Logistics & Transport
Historical Background
The Royal Hungarian Logistics and Transport Services formed the essential link between frontline formations and the resources required to sustain military operations. Troops, ammunition, food, fuel, medical supplies, equipment and animals all depended on a functioning system of transport and supply.
Hungarian transport units relied on a combination of horse-drawn wagons, motor vehicles, railway networks and specialised supply columns. During the Second World War, especially on the Eastern Front, the ability to move men and material across long distances became one of the most demanding challenges faced by the Royal Hungarian Honvéd.
The TŰZKERESZT Archive preserves original photographs, personal albums, military documents and research material illustrating the personnel, vehicles, transport columns, supply services and daily work of Hungary's logistics and transport units.
