Historical Research & Identification
For more than two decades, I have worked with original military photographs, personal albums, service records, maps, documents and private collections relating primarily to the Royal Hungarian Army and the military history of Central Europe during the first half of the twentieth century.
What began as a personal research interest gradually developed into an extensive archive and an international network of historians, collectors, archivists, museum professionals and descendants of former soldiers.
Through these resources, the TŰZKERESZT Archive assists individuals, families, researchers and institutions in identifying people, places, military units and historical contexts that would otherwise have remained unknown.
Primary focus: Royal Hungarian Army and Hungarian military history
Period: Austro-Hungarian Monarchy to Second World War
Officer registry: 4,000+ identified Hungarian officers, 1920–1945

Family and Descendant Research
Personal albums, service records, family documents and named photographs can sometimes be connected to descendants, relatives or broader family histories.
Photograph Authentication
Historical photographs may be dated and verified through photographic paper, studio marks, production characteristics, uniforms, inscriptions and contextual evidence.
Research Inquiries
If you have an unidentified photograph, military document, personal album, service record or research question, you are welcome to get in touch.
Please include as much information as possible, including scans, photographs, names, dates, locations and any known family details.
All inquiries are welcome. If I am unable to answer a question directly, I can often refer researchers to trusted specialists, collectors, archives or institutions within my international network of military historians and researchers.
